Fathers are thoughtful people often too little understood

Maybe not getting enough credit as often as they should

Somehow most fathers only seem to be the man who pays the bills

Also fixing up the little cuts and nursing all our ills

Fathers struggle everyday to live up to that image

The protector and provider a hero at the scrimmage

Perhaps that is the reason we sometimes get the notion

That fathers are not the subject of a little thing called emotion

But take a look inside Dad"s heart where no one else can see

I think you will find he is sentimental and as soft as can be

He is so busy everyday in this grueling race we call life

So he leaves the sentimental stuff to his ever loving wife

Fathers are just wonderful in a million different ways

I think they deserve a compliment each and every day

The only reason Dad strives for fortune and success

Is to make his family proud of him and bring them so much happiness

So follow closely your father he is a guardian and a guide

Someone you can always count on and look up to with pride

A man who has beaten the game, sometimes his intentions go astray

I would never call my father by any other name

For I love him more everyday
